European GTM Engineer role starts, 2023 to 2025.

GTM Engineer is arguably the first revenue job title created largely by AI. Three years ago it was a curiosity on a handful of profiles. Today it is the fastest-forming go-to-market role in Europe, and the trajectory is not subtle.

The shape of the curve

When we plot role starts by quarter across TechTree's workforce graph, the line sits flat and low through 2022 and most of 2023, then breaks sharply upward in the first quarter of 2025 and holds above 100 new starts a quarter for the rest of the year. In annual terms, European GTM Engineer role starts grew from roughly 33 in 2023 to about 135 in 2024 to around 446 in 2025.

That is a 13x increase in 24 months. Growth of that speed, sustained across multiple quarters rather than spiking and fading, is the signature of a labour market forming rather than a hashtag trending.
