Tactics day at GTM Tech Week Warsaw is about what actually closes: sales methodology, automation, and offers that convert. Which raises the most practical question in the building - who runs all this?

If your answer is "we'll hire a GTM Engineer," here's the catch from our data: the title is scarce, but the skill is not.

There are only 492 titled GTM Engineers in all of Europe. But ~16,900 people are already doing the work under other names - Clay and n8n operators, outbound-systems builders, growth and marketing engineers - and ~61,000 sit in the wider adjacent pool of RevOps, sales ops and marketing ops. For every person who carries the title, dozens more do the job under a different one.

So the tactic for hiring this role is simple: stop searching for the title, start searching for the skill. If you only consider people who already call themselves a GTM Engineer, you're competing for 492 people - many of them already getting pulled into remote US offers. Define the role by the systems you need built, and you're choosing from tens of thousands.

There's a second tactical option the data surfaces: you don't have to hire at all. Around 44% of employers in the European GTM-engineering market are agencies or consultancies doing the work on a client's behalf. Below roughly a dozen people, renting the capability often beats building it. The week's tooling-and-tactics sessions are a good place to pressure-test which side of that line you're on.

Either way, the takeaway for Tactics day: the playbook is only as good as the person wiring it up - and that person is more available than the job-title scarcity suggests.
