The brief.

A top-tier US PE firm built a data and AI-driven function for investment operations, deal sourcing, due diligence and portfolio monitoring, designed as a startup-within-an-enterprise. The challenge was cultural translation, selling PE to engineers who would normally screen it out, while holding a consistent bar across 15 roles over 12 to 24 months.

The search.

Three linked searches inside one engagement. A staged 15-hire team build of full-stack, backend and data engineers, DevOps and a PM, each sharing deep large-scale-data experience with roughly half from entrepreneurial backgrounds. A VP of Engineering, a post-exit co-founder of a venture-backed business, was sourced via the Talent Partner network and de-risked through a consulting engagement before converting. A VP of Product was pre-sourced by a Talent Partner before the brief even landed.

The hire.

14 of 15 hires retained through a leadership transition. The VP of Engineering stayed nearly four years; the VP of Product went from brief to hire in under two months. Both senior leaders originated inside the Talent Partner network, and the client re-engaged TechTree at their next platform.
